Another weekend

Another weekend here at the Greer Moores. After my exciting week of jury duty, which ended with me NOT HEARING A SINGLE CASE, Manchie and I spent Friday afternoon and night getting ready for our yard sale. Saturday morning we got up early and set up everything out in the driveway. Not a bad beginning.
Then, early into the sale, it started pouring down rain. We went from a yard sale to a garage sale in a hurry. It stops raining so we go back to a yard sale. Rains again so we go to "hey, we have lots of stuff for Goodwill". Saturday became a work in the yard day..... cloudy the rest of the time.
Sunday, we had coffee ministry at church for the early service so we were home by a little after 10. While I was back out in the yard, Manchie got a call from her dad saying he had been to the emergency room the night before due to....... well, the doctor said nothing, but Frank and Jeff spent hours at the hospital. Manchie packs and heads off to Mooresville to go to the doctor's office with Frank today. Poor me had to watch the Davidson game all by myself.
Today, it's back to work for me. Seems like forever since I've been in. Guess I'll go around and re-introduce myself to the ones we have left.

Jury duty

I just had my first experience with jury duty. The closest I have come before was being subpoenaed (had a hard time finding out how to spell that one) and then told that I didn't have to show up. Today it was for the Summary Court, which, I found out this morning, used to be known as Magistrate Court.
Along with about 100 of Greenville County's finest citizens, I went to court at 8:30a.m. and sat for the next 3 hours or so. The judge and the attorneys went through the court docket for the week and then selected jurors for each and every one of the cases. Finally, I won some sort of lottery...... I got picked by the wonderful attorneys for every day this week. Friday is iffy, but the rest are fixed..... oooppss... didn't mean to say "fixed" when talking about court.... I meant I have to show up.
Hoping to have some interesting cases.

Whew.....

We had an awesome Easter. Manchie and I went to church this morning to help in the cafe and it was busy. We always seem to be slammed and I guess it was no more so than normal.
All the kids came over for a wonderful lunch/dinner of ham, green beans, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, orange jello salad, some kind of chocolate dessert and zucchini muffins. That Manchie sure can fix a meal.
The Easter egg hunt was a blast. Some eggs were left out on the grass to give Griffin a chance. Someone would point out an egg to him and he would pick it up..... then try to give it away..... then put it down.... then put it in his basket.... then take it out... then put it on the grass.... You get the point. We took loads of pictures and Jonathan & Marissa did video. I'm sure they will have them uploaded soon.
All the kids left and we are now watching Carolina playing basketball. The game would be much more interesting if they had a team to play against.
I have jury duty with a local magistrate starting in the morning. That should be exciting. Can't wait.

Easter

Manchie and I both had Friday as a "holiday". She was staying with her dad all week and I went over Thursday. Yesterday we both came home. She went to the store for a few hours and I did yard work..... today was a repeat of sorts for me. Good thing about the place in Charlotte, it never requires any yard work from me.
Our church added two services for Easter, today at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Since Manchie and I are working in the cafe in the morning at first service (of the three on Sundays), we went to the 4 service today. Lucky for us, Holly and her crew also went at that time so we got to see the grandkids. The church wasn't full by any means... about 2/3 maybe.
After church, Manchie and I dropped by to see Griffin. Jonathan happened to be home too and Marissa was at work.
All the local Moore's are coming over tomorrow for a free meal. Manchie is setting up an Easter egg hunt that reminds me of the ones in Littleton a FEW years ago. Jonathan and Baby Jim had to have help finding any.
It was nice to have someone answer a few of the mysteries of life for me.
